10 Unique celebrity engagement rings and their much more reasonably priced doppelgängers

Every few months a celebrity pair will get engaged and, soon enough, the paparazzi will catch a glimpse of the giant rock they’ll be sporting on their left hand. I am not a huge fan of the giant solitaires, myself, those just seem a bit obnoxious and heavy. The unique rings, however expensive they may be, are super cool! Here’s 10 of the best unique engagement rings and their less pricey copies for you to rock on any finger!

1. Blake Lively’s pink bauble:

When Ryan Reynolds proposed to Blake, he didn’t show up with just a run of the mill ring. He picked out a HUGE Lorraine Schwartz pink diamond worth an estimated $2,000,000. As nice as it would be to have that kind of money (which, honestly, I would rather buy a house), this Flora Ring, made with pink tourmaline and diamond accents on 18K white gold is much more reasonable, but equally beautiful, at $1,150.

2. Kate Middleton’s handed-down hardware:

It was the engagement heard around the world. Prince William finally put a ring on it in 2010. It wasn’t just any ring either, Kate Middleton was presented with the ring that was formerly worn by William’s mother, Princess Diana. The 18-carat sapphire and diamond ring is worth an estimated $137,000, but given its history, the bauble is priceless. What isn’t priceless? This beautiful replica: Gemvara’s Penelope Ring with a blue sapphire and white diamond accents set in 14-karat white gold at the much more affordable price of $3,785.

3. Mariah Carey’s pink prize:

I won’t lie, I am not a huge fan of pink, but Mariah’s 17-carat pink diamond from Jacob & Co. is truly eye-catching. At a cool $2,000,000, Nick Cannon sealed their six weeks of dating with this giant gem. Because of it’s colorful nature, I think this would be a really cute ring to rock, engaged or not. This Cora ring, with a pink sapphire center stone, diamond accent stones, and pink tourmaline accents set in 14-karat rose gold, is a much more affordable $2,395.

4. Scarlett Johansson’s sparkler:

Fiancé Romain Dauriac presented the famed starlet with this vintage-inspired Art Deco ring on September 4, 2013. This custom-made ring features three large diamonds surrounded by smaller ones, and while there is no way to know its price, it’s safe to assume that it didn’t come cheap. The Arya ring by Gemvara allows you to customize it just as much, without the hefty price tag! The ring on the right features a large diamond center stone with diamond accents set in 14-karat rose gold for $5,685.

5. Jackie O’s ornate ornament:

As probably one of the most fabulous fashonistas to grace the White House, Jackie sadly lost her famous husband, JFK, in an assassination. 5 years later, Jackie married Aristotle Onassis, a wealthy shipping heir, and who wouldn’t when proposed to with a ring like that? This ornate, custom-made diamond was known as the Lesotho III 40.42-carat diamond that was one of only 16 cuts from a 601-carat rough diamond discovered in South Africa. This giant rock is estimated at $2,600,000 and would be impossible to imitate. This Naked Emerald Triple Ring shines it its own right, with a green tourmaline center stone and white sapphire accent stones on 14-karat white gold. They are similar enough to represent the same look, but at a much more reasonable price: $4,000.

6. Ashlee Simpson’s stunner:

Looks like the second time was the charm for Ms. Simpson. Her and Evan Ross, who just married this past August, were originally spotted with this ornate ring in January. The 5-carat marquise-cut diamond was designed by Neil Lane and was accented with rubies and 140 small white diamonds and cost an estimated $150,000. This Cordelia ring also features a diamond center stone surrounded by diamond and ruby accents set in 14-karat rose gold is equally beautiful and a hell of a lot cheaper at $4,065.

7. Olivia Wilde’s eye-catcher:

Olivia’s ring is truly eye-catching. She received this stunner from Jason Sudeikis in January 2013. It was designed to replicate her beautiful eyes. This rough diamond stone, surrounded by a halo of emeralds and set in white and yellow gold, is custom-made, so we’ll never really know it’s worth, but I can guarantee that it’s way pricier than this beautiful bauble. This Jessamine ring also features a diamond center and a halo of emerald accents set in white and yellow gold, but comes at a much more reasonable price tag: $4,205.

8. Holly Madison’s hardware:

This is one of my absolute favorite rings because of its ornate details. Designed by the king of all raves, Pasquale Rotella, this ring has everything. At a cool $2,000,000, the ring includes an 18-carat cushion yellow diamond and rose gold ring, surrounded by plenty of pink and yellow diamond flowers. He even put adorable touches to it, including the engraving of an owl, his company’s mascot and favorite animal. Even if you had that kind of money, there’s no way to replicate this sort of detail. This reasonably priced ($3,815) Mantilla ring features a yellow sapphire center stone, citrine and pink sapphire accent stones set in 14-karat rose gold. Now that’s a price to hoot at!

9. Jennifer Aniston’s outdated rock:

This ring is a throw back for Jennifer. Brad Pitt personally designed this $500,000 engagement ring with Damiani. It was designed to resemble the shape of a heart and symbolizes eternity. I guess by eternity, he meant more like 5 years. It’s funny, upon first glance, I thought it resembled more of a storm, which, honestly given what happened to their relationship, makes way more sense. This Josephine ring is strikingly similar in looks (one large diamond surrounded by smaller ones set in sterling silver), but vastly different in price at $3,920.

10. Halle Berry’s non-conventional hardware:

When French actor Olivier Martinez proposed to Miss Berry, he presented her with a very unconventional ring in March of 2012. I am a huge fan of green, so I am very down with this. I am also down for French accents, so this ring is right up my alley. At an estimated $200,000, this ring features one giant emerald, surrounded by diamonds, and set in gold. It’s much cheaper Vivien ring also features an emerald, flanked by two white sapphire accents, set in 14-karat yellow gold. Oh, and the price tag? $5,460. A very, very small fraction of $200,000.

What do you think?
